Name of your website?Conference Coordinator Spain
Your name?
Sarah Madison
Your Location (city, etc)
Barcelona
Please give us a short summary of your website?
Event management portal showing many of the services we offer here in Spain.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Always had an interest in the internet and we decided to build our own site showing how we operate etc. Originally it was beneficial to us because we would have the address on our business cards etc.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is our first website, altho having built it ourselves without any expert input or design skills initially it has changed design several times over the last few years.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Well, it was what our vocation was actually called so made sense at the time.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
We like to show a a very broad range of services that we offer as oppose to being very narrow. We also like to keep quite up to date things like testimonials and recent events to show visitors the range of services we can provide.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To be the main port of call for anyone outside of Spain that is thinking of holding an event or conference here in Spain.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
A a small but growing business it has often been difficult to dedicate the amount of time to the website as we would like.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would have full time staff working on the marketing and the website content as oppose to doing most of it myself.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Absolutely!
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None really. We have been very careful about many aspects of the business, be it using quality resources or being cost effective.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Needing more staff and the costs that that can bring has often been a challenge. (i.e 23 hours days for myself and partner.)
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
decent reputation, nicely growing client list and that general level of trust. Serps are quite good for our targeted phrases etc but we could definately use more relevant leads for sure.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It hasnt really. I guess it needs a lot of time and investement over the years to succeed and that is still the case.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
It will be online so long as the company operates.
with little budget where is the best place to invest online for more qualified traffic.
test test test many times. so many sites nowadays say that they recieve 20,000 vistors a month for example and therefore is x amount of euros per year, yet we know that it is most likely to have about 100 visitors a year! Sites like business .com may have been an option yet they are so cluttered now with dozens of links that I find that very unattractive as an advertisement.
