Gobo Entertainment is an Austin, TX based agency serving central Texas for DJ & Band booking of premier services for weddings, proms, private parties, quinceaneras, mitzvahs and more.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Having a website is an excellent way to get my service offerings in front of many more clients
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launched my first website in 1995. It was a site dedicated to my family history.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The name of my site is the same as my company name.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Ease of use
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Use the site to generate traffic and bookings for mobile DJ entertainment
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
So far I spend at least 3 hours a day updating and adding marketing to both the site and promotions of the site. Not much success yet however it should catch up soon.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
More video and maybe even some article writers
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, we currently have about a dozen entertainers and are training more each month.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Advertising
What has been your biggest challenge?
Haven't run into any "big" challenges yet.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Postings on Craigslist.org
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Not much different than expected
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
It will be up for the duration of the company.
Does having a website replace having a physical business address
In some cases yes. More than 90 percent of our business is generated over the internet.
